PFO Compact Flourescent Retrofit Lighting Systems

Anyone using this kit from MarineDepot? What do you think of it? I'm looking at the 2 - 55W.

I just purchased the 2x96w last week. It has only been running on my system for abour 7 days but so far so good. I love it. The ballast is well made and consists of 2 seperate power cords and 2 seperate switches. I have my actinic light on one timer set to turn on 1 hour before the daylight bulb and go off 1 hour later. I like the look of the lights also. When purchased, they only give the option of 7100k actinic and 6700k white. For an extra 6 dollars (i Think) you can upgrade the white bulb to a 10,000k. It is well worht the upgrade as the color is not as yellow as the 6700k. The Customer service at Marine Depot is top notch as well. When my order arrived, one of the bulbs was broken. After talking with MD by phone, they shipped the new bulb to me NDA at no charge and never even asked for the broken bulb back. Go with the lights, good company, good lights, good deal.

Glad to hear that! I just ordered the 2 x 96W system on Friday and upgraded to the 10000K bulb. Can't wait to get them on and see how they look! I'll post my impressions as well when I get them installed.

I have had the 2x96 PFO PC's for the last 12 months. Not one problem. I ordered mine from Marine Depot also. I also have their MH system....which is also just as good! HTH

Just got my 2x96 kit today and had it installed in less than 1 hour! Very easy to install, and my tank looks AWESOME! I upgraded to the 10000k bulb instead of the 6700k (for $8) and the light is great. Super system, VERY glad I bought it!

I didn't notice the upgrade to 1000k till it was too late.....
