I raised the skimmer output above the water line in my sump. I then took a 1 Gallon water/milk type jug, and cut a hole on the side, and one on the bottom. I place the output of the skimmer on the hole on top, and the put the hole on the bottom below the water surface. I tied the whole thing to the stage I placed the skimmer on with airline tubing.

This was a spur of the moment idea to deal with a frustrating problem, and has worked so well I haven't devised a better solution. It has been in place for about 3 months, and no bubbles enter my tank.

My sump is in my basement, so I have the luxery of lots of room to raise the skimmer.

I would recommend baffeling your sump if you do not have the luxery of height.

Does anybody have a solution to getting rid of all those nasty micro bubbles that over power my tank? When the skimmer is off my tank is crystal clear, but as soon as the skimmer is put back on the bubbles come right back. I've tried putting filters and sponges by the output, but no luck. The skimmer has been up and running for about 6 months.

Please advise

I have the same skimmer and had the same problem and still have a few. I ended up adding another 30 gallon sump to my existing sump and attached them with 2 1.5" bulkheads. Like setht, I have the luxury of space, my tank is plumbed to the garage. I have a Life Reef sump on order and should have it in mid September. Jeff says I won't have any bubbles with his sump, I hope it's true.
Setht,
The milk jug idea sounds good and would love to see a picture if you have one. Feel free to email it to me if you don't have a picture server. I have spent a lot of time and money trying to get rid of those micro bubbles and will be very pleased if a simple milk jug can eliminate 100% of the bubbles.

MurrayJim, I'll see if I can borrow a camera from work tonight, and take a picture of this rig. It aint pretty, and I sometimes make fun of myself for the solution, however no bubbles, and that is all that matters

I added an elbow to raise above water line. I addes a micron bab. Now all the skimmer does is produce wet foam (and lots of it) I turned down the pump out flow, but now it doesn't produce enough to cause any foam. I need help. I don't want to pitch this skimmer, but right now it is doing no good just sittin there since I turned it off because I couldn't stand all those bubbles.
