I'm in the same boat you are with the 46gal. I am pretty sure that Allglass makes them (in black). Unfortunately it may only be their acrilic ones which IMHO are pretty shoddy. I'd expect to pay 200 bones. update me if you find one, I was going to be in the market for one in a few months.

I could make you one, but gettin' it down there would be interesting..

Try a local carpenter or furniture maker.

Exept for the plastic ones for standard NO lighting, I'm not aware of any standard bow front hoods suitable for reef lighting.
Most DIY their own or have a cabinet maker make one to your specs.
Here is one source for custom hoods:

I recently purchased a 46 gallon bow front, and I am in need of a canopy. My local store said they would contact someone about it, but hadn't seen any for this tank. Does anyone know where I might could get one, and about how much it would cost. thanks

I had the same problem when I got my 46g and didn't want to pay $150 for a cheap flimsy plastic canopy. I made my own canopy with just some 1" square rods as a frame and hard wood paneling to cover the sides. The paneling works great for the front of the canopy cause it's somewhat flexible and can be bent to the curve of the bow front. Here are some pics of my home made canopy and it only cost my about $50 total to make it.

bioreef from florida builds a lot of custom dquipment, and are building my canopy for 175 dollars out of oak.

shipping would be 97 dollars to michigan, but my parents live down there and are bringing it up to me.

Thanks for everyone's input, I am going to take a stab at making my own today. I'll let you know how it turns out, and post some pics when I'm completely finished.
