I have a 55 long made of glass, and yet I cannot get the front of the glass clean. The tank always looks fuzzy and doesn't look sharp at all. I have numerous snails climbing on the walls. I use RO water for top offs. In fact all my sides are fuzzy just that I don't clean the sides so they are covered in green algae that is tuff to scrape off. The front grows another type of algae or it could be the same and I just haven't given it enough time to grow. I would like it if I could get this stuff to slow cause right now I have to clean every other day if not more. What can I do to help control the growth on the front of my glass. Thanks for any advice

Get either a Tunze or a Magnavore magnet cleaners, work great. You'll always have a brown algae dusting on you tank walls. You'll need something to lightly scrub it off every 2-3 days.

You could also try Algae Free's new Piranha Float, It works great and the inner piece floats to the top if it falls off. Premium Aquatics or Flying Fish carry them.

Get one of the scrapers from Kent Marine. They make the blades interchangeable and they have one that is a metal blade that will get that stuff off and won't scratch the glass. Look at www.marinedepot.com under misc items.

I bought one of the kent ones and i think its really good. The blade should last for ages too, unlike the traditional razors. Only problem is it cost me £30 which IMO is very steep for a placky handle and a small sheet of metal.
