what if trace element is overused?

Hi! guys.
If Iodine,Strontium,etc. are overused in reef tank,what happen to corals and inverts.

The last time I overdosed Seachem Strontium, my snails keeled over and died. Nearly all of them.
The last time I overdosed Seachem Iodine, my cleaner shrimps cooked off.
Fishies were never affected. Coral seem to take it pretty well too.

Take my word for it. Read the damn instructions more than twice.
