I was gone over the weekend attending the macna conference, and when I came back the power was off on my tank, and had been off for over 12 hours. All my fish, but one are died. My soft corals are mostly closed up. A few of my acros had RNT so I removed them from the tank. I woke up today and the RNT has spread to two new acro colonies, that didn't have it yesterday. I have not removed these colonies yet, I just fragged off the RNT. If I don't figure out how to stop this it going to whip out my whole tank in under a week. Any suggestion on what I should do.

Sorry to hear about your losses. Have you determined how long the power had been out? Not much you can do about RTN except what you are doing...fragging above the recession line. I am assuming you removed all the dead fish. Check you ammonia levels since I am sure they were decaying. Do a water change if you haven't already...and wait it out. Sorry for not much help, but not much can be done. I am sure the RTN was stress related with the power outage and the decaying fish. Good luck. HTH

RTN, is usually started with something like you have explained. Power out and fish start dieing or even if you introduce a new colony of acropora, this can start a chain reaction. You have and are doing all that can be done. If RTN is going to take all the acropora or sps you will not stop it. Iodine dips are a help, but even that sometimes will not stop it. It sounds like the most hardy acropora are the last going, I have heard of tanks being taken by RTN in less that 1 day. Sorry for the loss.
