Hi everyone. I had a ville mantisShrimp in my favorite piece of live rock. The following methods did not work for me: 1.Mantis TRap. 2.Soaking infested piece of liverock in a bucket of extra salty water. 3.Squirting cold freshwater in the holes of the liverock. 4.Yelling at Mantis shimp.
5. Hurling infested liverock at exgirlfriend.
As a rule i don't like to hurt any creatures in my tank, but this creep took out my cleaner shrimp and a shrimp Goby and he was squatting in my very favorite piece of liverock. I then put the piece he was living in into the sump, hoping to starve him out. Fat Chance!!!. Three weeks later, beliving him to be a corpse, I put the piece back into the display tank. The very next day i saw the little bugger's eyes peering out at me.
The liverock was then placed on my sundeck for 2 weeks after that. It froze one night, so i KNOW he is dead now for sure. My Question is: I knowthe rock is no longer live now, would it be ok to put it back into my display tank to re colonize? Or will it pollute my tank?
Thanks James
