I am hoping someone has a 180 gal with a single corner overflow and can tell me what size return pump used and what flow rate they think they are getting with it. I should include that it has a 1" bulkhead now, has anyone put a larger bulkhead in a 4"x4" corner overflow (1.25" or 1.5")? Any experiance or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Eric

A triangular overflow is easier to construct, stronger, and has one less seam to leak.

I use 40mm (1.6") plumbing on all my overflows.

I use two overflows on bigger tanks - one in each back corner.

Thanks, but I just bought a used 180 gal with a single square corner overflow with a 1" bulkhead and an trying to choose a return pump for it. Also considering drill a bigger hole for a larger bulkhead. I am looking for someone who has a 180 or similar sized tank with a single overflow, and what they use as a return pump?

Thanks again,
Eric

On my 180 I have a single corner overflow but had them make it 6"x8" with 2" bulkhead for drain to sump. I also have 2 x 3/4" return in the box.

Running ampmaster3000 and turns approx. 1800 to 2100gph. Everyone is talking close loop but I have these gemini pumps that put out 960gph each.
