HOW LONG DO CLEANER SHRIMP LIVE?

I WAS THINIKING OF ADDING SOME SHRIMP TO MY 25G TANK I HAVE NO CORALS ONLY A FEW SHROOMS, HOW LONG DO THEY LIVE, I HAVE HAD MY TANK OVER A YEAR. I HAVE 2 CLOWNS AND A ANEMONE AND THATS IT.

I have been wondering the same thing, and nobody has been able to give me an answer. Nevertheless, I think Clown Trigger is probably correct. I had numerous decorator shrimp in my reef tank: 3-4 candy-stripers, 4 scarlets, and a golden coral banded. After a couple of years, my population started to dwindle, and now I have none. I would say 2-3 years at the most.

I have some that are almost three and doing strong. A customer of mine has some that are over 5 years of age. They are the biggest cleaners you have ever seen.

Peppermint shrimp are cheap. I bought mine at an LFS for $5.95. Reeftopia.com sells them at $4 each or 6 for $18.
