I have some snail eggs on the glass of my 180 that I believe were laid by my margarita snails. What are the chances that they will hatch and grow to maturity?

Iffy.

However, where there is smoke, there is fire. Its the ones you *dont* see that have a good chance. If you have some eggs, chances are you are getting more in a safe place too... tucked in a corner... in a narrow space in the rocks.

Keep your eyes peeled for *tiny* snails.

I don't think that the eggs are from the margarita snails. I have had margarita snails spawn in my tank several times and I have observed it once or twice. The eggs and sperm are spewed out from the adults into the water and are not stuck at all to the side. The babies do not appear until about 2 months later. I have had cerith snails lay eggs on the wall of the tank. It almost looks like a small, white worm on the acrylic. Unfortunately, it seems that something else in my tank eats the eggs up before they have a chance to hatch.

Yes, I think that you are right about that... I think they are cerith snails. Looks like a squiggly, snaking trail of hundreds of eggs.

I misquoted when I said margatita, and meant cerith.
