Just had to related my recent experience with IceCap.
A couple weeks ago, I spilled some water on the Solar 700 dimmer i had connectied to my 660 ballast. Poof!!
Fried the sucker immediately and the lights went out. After the smoke cleared, I disconnected the dimmer and tried the lights again. No go.
After replacing the bulbs with no success, I packed up the ballast with a check for 62.50 (IceCap's flat repair fee) and shipped it off to NJ.
Yesterday I get an email from Chris the Service Manager saying that because he could find no evidence of water induced damage, he replaced a blown IC and was returning my check. He also said that most likely the dimmer sent a surge but only damaged the one chip.
I was/am really impressed!
Chris had every right to charge me for the repair since obviously, the damage wasn't caused by a defect in the product. It was caused by my carelessness.
I just gotta say that IceCap has got a customer for life
I read recently that there is another new eballast vender out there (forget the name), but for my money, IceCap has the best product and the best service.
