o.k.

now that you have your tank ordered, here's what i would do

i would go with 3 mh's 250s or 400s ..up to you..since you have 3 2' cut outs(again, this is why i recommended AGA over Oceanic which is what i have)

for circulation, i would still opt for 2 sea-swirls mounted in the corners..pumps are up to you

btw, i don't know how much room you will have between tank and wall, but you can drill these tanks in the back if you needed/wanted to

what i would do though is use durso mod standpipes in the overflow box, and then T or Y off your returns so that you have a line going to the sea-swirl and one to the lock line piping through the cutout that comes with it for more motion in the back of the tank..this will be a tight fit, but it can be done...just don't get frustrated while you're cramming your hands in there setting everyting up

btw, have you had enough recommendations yet?

Good choice going w/ AGA.

I have a AGA 180 at home w/ (3) PFO 150W HQI mini-pendents and (2) 55w actinics. I only have 1 overflow, as a couch is next to the tank and I didn't want people looking at a overflow chamber, which has a modified version of the Durso standpipe. For circulation I am using a Mag Drive 1800 which required the slots in the overflow to be slightly enlarged.

Good luck,

esmitiii, I just wanted to add my $.02 in even though I'm a little late in the conversation. I just moved my tank and went through the same decision process as you are now. I have a AGA 125g tank and I went with 2 Iwaki MD-55RLT pumps with 2 3/4" Sea Swirls. And I must say that I love both the pumps and the SS. I get plenty of flow from this setup. A ton of turbulence as well.

The only reason I didn't go with the Ampmaster is because I have a basement sump and would have lost too much flow from the high head.

FWIW,
Frank
