Leroy and SallyJo did an excellent job with both their presentations. Both sessions were packed with good info and great visuals!!
Thanks to all the speakers, presentors. Sorry if you missed the event; it was well worth the time and the effort. What a wealth of knowledge, not to mention the incredible opportunity to be involved with and meet other people from around the country (world!) in this phenomenal hobby.
See you Aug 23-25, 2002 in Dallas !!
Most of the presentations were excellent, because of various scheduling issues it was tought for me to attend them all. Personally I didn't think that the GARF workshops were all that worthy of my time, however they had pretty good attendance to their seminars.
I sometimes think they get a bad rap because everyone knows them. Yes, I know all about their not for profit stuff...but I thought the lecture was good. Leroy was nice and did an excellent job. Sally Jo liked to hear her own voice it seemed. I did not get a chance to go to the workshop, but wish I had.
IMO, I think they have done more good than bad for this hobby however. I understand the implications of doctoring pictures...the only difference is when you or I do it we are making our websites better. When they do it, people think it is false advertisement.
After all this is my own .02...your mileage may vary.
(Let me know if you want the original). (Note: It's not going to let me post the file here for some reason. Sorry all, this is a photo of James talking with Dr. Ron Shimek. If you can bring it up, it's at http://macnaxiii.tripod.com/big3.jpg )

i find it annoying when people doctor thier own pictures. i never doctor a picture to make it look more than what it is....i only do maybe an auto level adjustment, but if it distorts the color to what is unnatural to what the photo is of, i undo it...i just cant stand mucked with tank pics.
