Can i use a fluval 403 as a return pump?

Hey

I have a spare fluval 403 hanging around and i was wonderin if i could use it as a return pump for my soon to be set up sump, the tank is 80 gal and the sump is 20gal, it will be approx 4 feet or less below the tanks, any thoughts, ideas? thanks.

You won't get that much flow out of a canister filter, but it will work. The problem is the low flow.

I agree with Dave, it will work, but will not have the flow rate. It only puts out a rate of 317gph and will be even less at 4'.
