What are your choices for fish in a 55. What have you had success with. I also want fish that are reef and invertabrate friendly.

Long nose hawk fish. He's a little tank. He's so cool the way he hangs out on the rock, just standing there waiting for me to feed him again - he's such a beggar!

I'm afraid I've lost two long nose hawks - great fish, but jumpers. I'm partial to clowns, coral beauty's and sally light foot crabs.

Never noticed him jump - he went into my tank the same time as a wrasse (She-goat bless his soul) so I jump proofed (I hope) my tank.

Go peacefull and get a couple of fire fish, more than 5 and they should school. No sure what your limit is for a 55. Or how about a Catalina Goby, there small & V beutifull, and probably about the hardest thing for its size on the reef, one of those would probably be able to see off a small grouper. Bangii Cardinals are cool too coz you might even get them to breed. And in a small reef you have a good chance of raising the fry.

Try a yellow or blue assessor. I have had a yellow for alsmost 2 yrs now. Great little fish. Can be seen on the ffexpess.com collectors page.

Cirrhilabrus solarensis. Can't get more colorful, non-aggressive, and reef-safe then that, and this fairy wrasse stays relatively small.

You can't go wrong with a false perc or two and a royal gramma. What a great color combo. Fish are easy to keep, hardy and will not bother anything.

i have a sargassam trigger, in my 55, along with 2 blue green chromis. the sargassam thinks hes a chromis, they never leave each others sides.he has been an exciting fish to raise, and he has never defiled anything. except for the occasional snail toss.
