nitrate levels

at what levels should my tank be at in respect to nitrate mine is at 25ppm

If you have a reef tank your goal will probably be 0 ppm. Fish only can tolerate higher than this, but many corals cannot.
Please tell us what you have in your tank.

i have a 125g with 130lbs of live rock 1 sleeper gobie 1 coral banded shrimp and 1 pink tip anenome and soon will have 2 clowns. i had 2 blue devil damsels that i took out of the tank.. the levels have been rising lately.. i just got rid of the redslime that was in teh tank 2 weeks ago

Do you have a substrate and, if so, what is it's composition and depth? Besides your live rock, what is your filtration system?

that may be i have had it for about 2 months and has had fish for about a month

i have about a 3" sand bed thats just kicking in

I would suspect that your tank is only about 1 & 1/2 to 2 months old. If this is true then it will take a little longer before your LR and DSB kick in to reduce your nitrates. Your tank is still cycling.
