I still need another 50 or so pounds of live rock for my tank and I was thinking of purchasing it online. I just wanted to get some input from any of you who might have purchased live rock online. I was looking at petwarehouse.com, because I've bought a lot of other things from them and no complaints so far. I could get a 45# box for $3.19 a pound, that's with shipping, or get my live rock here town for $6.00 a pound plus tax. Thanks in advance for any input.

I purchased for paragon, the rock is covered in purple coraline with loads of life. Pistol shrimps, crabs, encrusting corals , tube worms .
Was pleased

I have purchased 2 boxes from petwharehouse.com of the 45lb rock and here's what I recieved:
2 boxes of encrusted rock, with a very nice smell

. Used this to cycle my tank which worked very well-all test kits went off the scales and cycle was reduced to 3 weeks. After the cycle was completed, small fanworms where the first to show up. Now, almost 5 mths later, many tunicates (sea squirts), some aiptasia

, many fanworms

, a hair algae bloom that is dissapating and being replaced by several macroalgaes

, some encrusted with red and purple coralline, many peanut worms, some bristles, many tiny snails and the other small swimming (dinoflaggets I believe) organisms. The important thing is you will have a wait out before these things will appear, and will need to recure your rock if your not cycling it in the main tank. I'm very satisfied with the final results thus far. (BTW if you see any sponges on the rock, remove them, they'll only polute the tank as they're already dead- live rock not shipped submerged will not have any live sponges on it.)

I got the 45lb special from FFE. Nice rocks, not a thing on them. I'm still trying to coax coralline out of them...

I bought 90lbs live cured fiji from fishsupply.com. It was $175 + ~ $100 shipping which made it after shipping ~ $3/lb. It arrived in great shape - wide range of sizes - its had lots of purple coraline and what appears to be a type of feather duster worm. Very nice rock, fully cured, no smell, no noticable decay.
