It certainly would help to know what kind of fish you already have in your tank. Also, other inhabitants of your tank would help too.

blenny, wrass, clown, or gobies could all fit your requirement. Why not you list a few candidate of your choice and we will help you narrow it down further?

One thing about your first fish.........Royal Gramma, being the first fish of the tank, could, may, might, possibly, most likely, will be aggressoive toward all new additions. Let's see how lucky you are. You will have to live with it if it ever become aggressive because it's already too late, and very difficult to get it out of the tank!

Long nose hawk. Love them - awesome personality, but they are jumpers.

They are the coolest - little tough guys.

And then there is my second favorite - my gorgeous wrasse. He's an orange bar fairy wrasse - he's really not that big.

Also jumpers btw - as are all wrasses.

that was gollum.

tan, why do all the wrasses have a tendency to jump? i'm not sure i want to chance it... it breaks my heart to see a "stressed" fish (if that is indeed why they try to jump). your wrasse is beautiful!

Thank you, I do get compliments on my wrasse quite often

I don't know why some fish are jumpers. Some people use eggcrate over the top of their tank and others (like me) use gutterguard and patch all the holes in their canopy with it. And then they do a little better job after their 2 favorite fish jump out within 2 days.

Whoops - I forgot - you said you have shrimp - no hawks for you.

Some people love their coral beauties, others say they eat their corals.

I think box fish (neat little guys) are on the delicate side. Aren't hey the ones that are tough to get to eat?

when i was in college, my marine biology instructor asked me if i wanted to be her lab assistant. it was my job to care for the marine tanks in the lab. there were 6 tanks altogether, including a cold water. anyway, one of the tanks had a snowflake eel, a flame hawk and a spotted boxfish. that little boxfish was no bigger than a grape when i started. by the time i graduated he was about the size of a lemon. i had him trained to where he would eat out of my hand. the eel did, too. i guess my point is that he did great - he was a piggy!

Hmm, I must be still sleeping when I wrote that......damn Sunday...

Box fish will tend to be coral polyps nipper when older. Also, Boxfish does not compete well with other faster fishes and usually starve as the result of it.
