175w MH users please read!

I am looking for opinions on the best 175w MH bulb available. Especially 10K's.

I am currently using 2 Coralife 10K's with 2 40w NO 10k's

I would like to get something that is bright white with maybe a little blue to it.

I just purchased the German 10000Ks, Ushio I think the name is, and I like them a lot. They are a much crisper white than coralife from what I hear, and coralife also has a much lower PAR than the Ushios. Someone posted a thread a while back that showed the different lighting of the different bulbs. Don't know where it is, but maybe someone else remembers it too.

I have always liked the AB 10K lamps.

If you are looking for intensity and crisp white, then you want the ushio or AB bulbs. If you want a metal halide actinic (worthless IMO) then the coralife or bluelines fit the bill.

I have actenic for dawn dusk...but with 2 175W Blueline 10K ran on Blueline balasts there is no need for the actinic. The bluelines add enough blue on there own to give a crisp white light and no yellow looking light.

Hi I use the Blueline 175, no complaints here. great bulb. No actinic is used, nice crisp blue, white light, corals like it also.
