Have a RR 120 gal tank that I am starting up. Getting my live rock tomorrow, and I am wondering what I should do to it before placing it in the tank?

This rock is supposed to be fully cured, with minimal, if any, die off.

But I read a recommendation to use a high salinity dip on all of the rock. This is supposed to force all crab and shrimp hitchhikers to vacate the rock, allowing you to decide which ones to put in the tank. You lose worms this way too. You then rinse the rock with normal saltwater prior to placing it in the tank.

Anyone have any thoughts about this process? Have you tried it? How much of a chance am I taking by just putting the rock in the tank straight off?

I can't speak about doing a super-saline dip, but I did do a fresh water dip when I put my rock in. I bought 100lbs of gulf-view and dipped nearly every piece before putting it in the tank. Nothing came out of the rocks when I dipped them, but I've still liberated 3 mantis shrimp and four bad crabs from my tank. IME dipping doesn't work.
