I am currently setting up a 20gal sump for my 100gal, 3 year old tank. I just ordered a new Turbofloater skimmer and it will not fit in my current sump (no room under tank for additional sump)!! I am making the sump out of a steralite container. I have already installed a 1" bulkhead for my return pump (Iwaki md40rlxt). My concern is with bubbles. I heard there is no way to do any partitions in a steralite/rubbermaid sump because of the flexability. Any ideas? Would also like any ideas for where the overflow hose goes into the sump. I would like to run a little sponge/pad and some carbon. Not quite sure how to complete this.

ANY advice would be appreciated and pics would be nice to!!

TIA
Dennis

It helps to lessen bubbles by having the return flow into a plastic bucket higher than the water level. Also, you can sort of wedge a partition in the sump. It dosen't have to seal 100% to help.

I'll try to find the full size photo. I linked that one off my site and it's been a few years or so since I snapped that pic. I have a 29 gal. drilled aquarium sump now with siliconed in baffles.
