Uh ... sorry but I have to nitpick here.
In the wild, percs and ocellaris are found in Stichodactyla gigantea, the GIANT or coloured carpet anemone. What we refer to as "carpet anemone" in the hobby is Stichodactyla haddoni, and percs and ocellaris do NOT associate with this anemone in the wild.
In short, the natural symbionts for these fish are Heteractis magnifica (hosts both), Stichodactyla gigantea (hosts both), and one each for Heteractis crispa and Stichodactyla mertensii. (Ref: Fautin and Allen, and Wilkerson).
None of the above have a spectacular survival record in captivity. There are some successes but few and far between. DON'T rush in and try any of these without a great deal of experience with anemones.
In captivity, clownfish associate with darn well whatever they choose. They should associate with a BTA but there is no guarantee they'll choose it over a torch or a colt, for example. (But likely they will eventually, in my opinion.)
I have never seen a rose BTA available in Calgary (and I have been looking for about 5 years now). I have seen them available MO but good luck trying to convince a US based MO to sell you livestock (it's not a good idea anyways since the package will have to clear customs and they work on their own schedule ... trust me I've tried this ... e.g., if the package arrives 4:30, they won't even look at it because they go home at 5:00 and they'll tell you to wait 'till morning, or go the 24-hour office in the airport but trust me don't go THERE because they're just grumpy all the time and will totally resent you trying to clear something in their office. Um ... I digress a little. Back to the topic at hand...) To the person asking where to find one online, try
Jeff's or
Dr. Mac's, I think I have seen them at these places from time to time.
Bottom line, Spikehs, a BTA should do you just fine. And, "have I got a deal for you." You're in Calgary, I'm in Calgary, and I am DESPERATE to find some good local homes for some of my captive raised BTA's. I think they're absolutely beautiful and I hate to part with any of them but I simply cannot house four anemones in one tank anymore. If you have ANY interest in a BTA, please come by and take a look at mine, and see if you don't want one after seeing them -- they're gorgeous. I'm about a block away from your favourite LFS, BTW. Drop me a line sometime (click on the email link thing above this post to get my email address).
