coraline algae?

My coraline algae looks like it is getting lighter in areas and also some areas seemed to be outlined in a very thin white edge. Does anybody know what this means? My tank has only been set up about 4 months and the coraline I have is just on the rock it has not spread to pumps or glass or anything like that. thanks

those white lines are supposed to be growth lines. i see that in my tank too. its a little over 3 months old. i havent seen any explosive growth of coraline in my tank so far, but i do see some growth.

I agree with the above. I always thought the white edges indicated growth too. I've also seen my coralline lighten up from a dark muave to a lighter pink in some of the brighter areas. I wouldn't worry about it to much. If it's growing then things must be coming along quite nicely....
