Carpenters Wrasse

I don't usually like to post such an poor picture, but I just wanted to share my newest tank mate...

A few folks made a reef trek this weekend out to Long Island to visit JohnL's tank....

The highways were an horrible experience, and what can I say about NY drivers :eek2:

We also took another scary ride out to Country Critters..... A nice but rather pricey store..... About the only thing that I found reasonable was my beautiful new Carpenters Wrasse

He is gorgeous. Do they stay that pretty as they grow? What are their temperment and habits?

I had one for 3-4 months. they are very colorful but without a harem the colors will fade. they need to be fed twice a day. Every time another fish even came close to mine, he would try to jump out of the tank. He was eventually successfl.

I am presently looking for some females to join him, to keep his colors up!!!

I have a very non aggresive assortment of fish in this tank and I have not seen him jump yet. He seems to like a spot under a large shelf I have (perhaps he doen't like the intense light

) I have screened in the overflows and most of the canopy just in case.
