Shrooms are closely related to anemones. They can eat the same way,but they do not require meaty direct feedings. It is eaten and digested the same as an anemone.
This morning after feeding the fish, I noticed a bloodworm had settle on the edge of a green striped mushroom. The edge then curled up and dragged the worm towards the center. It then form a cup shape and sucked the worm in, taking about ten minutes for the entire process. Do mushrooms need to be fed directly, or was this something unusual?
Thanks for the replies. I don't think I will try to direct feed them since they grow and multiply fast enough as it is. It was prety interesting to watch how the food was captured and eaten... you don't see this stuff on TV, aren't reef tanks great?
