Are the electronic MH ballast worth the extra cost? Are the energy savings really worth the extra money? And how is it that the bulb burns cooler on a electronic ballast? I just want to make the right lighting choices from the start.
I used IceCap ballast for 2 years. I hate em. Total crap not worth the cost. It will take you years to make up the difference in extra costs based on what they sell.
The ballast totally under drives the bulb. When I swithced out my IceCap for PFO ballast (same bulbs and reflectors) within 2 weeks most of my corals colored colored up nicer and the tank is much brighter.
