Well My Female T. Perc body is almost covered in black color, she looks very pretty!! Is this normal in T Percs, were the whole entire body is covered in black markings minus the head and the back fin?
Is this rare and is it a good thing?

Thanks
GF

You are so lucky!

I like true percs as opposed to false percs because they generally have more black to them. I've only see one that had a lot of black, and that was at Coral Reef Aquarium in MA. He was going to keep her and try to find her a partner.

You here Jeremy? How'd that go?

All clownfish species exhibit dark and light morphs (xanthic and melanic phenotypes). I wouldn't worry about it; it's perfectly normal variations.

I have two Percula clowns. The female is about 30-50% larger than the male. The female is mostly black while the male just has thick black bands surrounding the white stripes. I kind of prefer the female. The colors are more striking.

If you like a darker colored clown, look into the saddlebacks. They are relatively dark, and take to carpets well.
