I have two separate aptasia's growing basically right out from under my clam. I got rid of two others in a diferent location by making a heavy kalk mix with a turkey baster. I'm worried that if I do this some of it will still get on the clam..I'm sure that would not be a good thing..? Any suggestions? I was thinking of maybe getting a small syringe as to control how much kalk I blast. All suggestions welcome... Thanks.

Can you lift the clam up? If you can, prepare a bucket filled with your aquarium water, put the clam in the bucket, and use a stiff brush to rid of the aipt.

I used under water exopy and a straw. Cut a straw to about 3"-4" and place it over the aptasia, and epxoy around it to hold it in place. The aptasia will "crawl"up the straw for and then pull the straw out.

Now thats a cool idea Naso!

I inject them and added a copperband butterfly which is supposed to eat them. So far he hasn't been interested but we'll give him a little more time...

In my experience, Peppermint shrimps (Lysmata Wurdemanni) will sort out Aiptasia. Unfortunately the ones i had were partial to yellow button polyps too! Still i'd rather be aip-free than keep yellow buttons.
