I'm kicking around an idea for an empirical ecological isolation investigation, so I was curious, how many members here maintain acropora in a 2.5 gallon aquarium? What is your methodology and equipment list?
A great thanks,
Chris

I kept an acro in a 10g under a 250w iwasaki pendant. I ran very high water movement in that tank and I still lost it to black band. It was a pretty dense wild colony. Still have a lot of othere sps but no more acropora. That 10g has been successful except for that one loss and it is connected to a 10g refugium with dsb through a sommon sump. Main is bare bottom. Has since been upgraded to a 15g and lighting changed to ushio 10k.

I kept a bali staghorn alive indefinitely in a 10 gallon with only 60 Watts of power compact flourescent lighiting and a small rio to circulate.

Live rock, live sand, and derbesia algae provided filtration.

Dana Riddle documented his work on a 5G with 4 X 9W pc with various sps species in Marine Fish Monthly a few years back.
