100 g or less ..hob filter...imo

ok here it is i have 3 tanks one is a 72 g bowfront , a 40 long , and a 300g...on both the 72 and the 40 i have been using hob (hang on back filters) empieror 400's (2 on the 72)(1 on the 40 ) and i dont plan on changeing them , reason beeing , the water in both these tanks are very pure ( clean ) with just these filters, and have not yet had any problems with them , the 72 has some corals and anenomes and fish , the 40 is a fish only aggresive tank. i have no interest in setting up a sump or bulky filtering system for them , they do there job and quite well, so i ask this question , why do so many people go with sump or very large bulk systems on smaller tanks? i can fully understand it with large tanks that need high flow filtration in large amounts , thankyou , and this is just my opion. not to be taken as fact.
