try e-bay! I paid $130 for a 24" power compact 110- watt(1) 10,000k (1) actinic with two power cords for use for timers. It's an aluminum hood with a reflector inside. It's pretty much the same as the JBJ setup for about half the price. Just keep searching on ebay under pets or aquariums and you'll come across it. Actually, I think their name was Pet Supply Liquidator.

I got my JBJ 24" dual 55W unit on eBay for $110 about 16 months ago...

Pretty happy with them so far...
