Since I am using the poor turtles tank for my corals when move, I am thinking about making a pond for them at the new house. Anyone have any tips for a small, inexpensive, above ground turtle pond? I was thinking of looking at a farm supply store for a large watering trough. I want it to be easy to take with me if I have to move again.

I had some friends in Miami who used to keep turtles in a kids plastic wading pool...

They dug a shallow hole the same diameter as the pool and set it in the hole...Then, they put up a 2 foot chicken wire fence around it...

Didn't look as bad as it sounds...

I once kept a small painter turtle in my fresh water tank for about six months. He was smaller than a 50 cent piece when I got him. He grew very quickly and I had to release him after he started chasing all of my fish. It was pretty cool to actually see their behavior. He used to lodge himself under stuff to sleep...
