I need some advice ASAP!

I have a Yellow Coris Wrasse, he has been with me for about a week now, he is out most of the day and then burries himself in the sand at night, i have noticed in the last couple of days that the fish has some white stuff on his mouth, but he is not breathing heavy and does not look sick,he is very active and have seen him eat off and on, but i dont know what is wrong with him? It will be imposible for me to get him out of the tank and treat him, so i need to know if there is a way to treat him in the main aquarium, without killing any of my corals or inverts, and also see if someone can answer these questions;

Does he have a disease that is contagios to other fish in the tank?

If i dont treat will he die?

What is the cheapest and safest tretment for this?

Thanks
Percfan :x

I have no idea how to treat the fish except for the garlic soaked food.

but maybe.... Change your name to Wrassefan and the fish will naturally feel better and get healthier in the process

You have not provided enough information detailing the fish's condition for anyone to be able to confidently recommend any medication. Truth be told, if your Yellow Coris (H.chysurus) is being housed in a reef tank, there are no "reef-safe" medication I can recommend. If you can provide more details (or pictures) of the wrasse, that would assist us greatly. There's a possibility that what you're observing isn't a virulent infection at all, but rather physiological damage or even unconsumed foods (e.g. bristleworms' bristles).

I agree with Jawbone. Try to get some garlic soaked food to near where he is hanging out. Some shrimp pellets soaked in garlic extract might do the trick.

What kind of subtrate you have? CC or fine sand? If it's fine sand, what kind of fine sand? Oolithic/southdown or silica based play sand?
