Powerheads

I have to maxi jet 900 power heads. I keep these connected to a wave maker with a 3min on off cycle. when power head A goes it twin power head B ( positioned at the opposite end of the tank) kicks on. My question is this. Should I run the powerheads in this manner 24-7 or should there be periods of total calm with little or no water movement?

24/7. Never have stagant water. If you have more then 2 powerheads, you can switch one off during the night to emulate a slightly subdued current, although it's perfectly fine to keep things on 24/7. But whatever you do, do not turn them all off at night.
