Hi,
I am recondtioning my ATS 250 to be added to the 100 gal sea grass tank. The 250 has been on an 80 reg. that is considered the bone yard. Here is my question. The PC sockets that I had on it were not water proof at all. That is one reason why I turned off the lights over a year ago. It has 2 55 watt PCs. Are there water proof PC sockets? Straight 4 pin. Available?
I got these from AHsupply. The bulbs were only used a few months but don't seem good as one pin fell out of one and the other seems cracked. A splash guard would cut too much light off I think. Any help would be great, I really want this to be safe and effective. Sorry for the ramble!~) Maybe I should contact Morgan?

Inland carries ( or at least can get) waterproof inline sockets. I have seen them sell them before.

There's also a DIY way I saw on the web which uses that plasti-dip stuff you use on tool handles.

I also think I remember seeing a MO company selling sets of water proof inliners as a DIY option which had like 6' of cord length.

I'll check my favorites list and see if I can find that one...

Any pics of your ATS 250 tank? I've been extensively researching ATS for the last year now. I'd love to try it on one of my tanks but the pricing on them is pretty high... I might have to DIY one of these sometime...

Well,

My search turned up nill on the straight pin but, hellolights.com does sell a waterproof cap and cord for square pin cheap. Also primiumaquatics sells one. both come with like 6' cord for remote ballasts.

You said your bulbs weren't in good shape so you might consider just buying the square pin sets and bulbs.

The cords from primieum were around 14.00

HTH anyway

TY,
Thank you for looking around.
That might be an option.
Shane,
I might be able to take some photos later. The real thing would be to get photos and exact measurements to a master fabricator here in our community that might help us. They are not that straight forward for DIY. I know there is a patent. Maybe they could go for a "donation" of cash or equipment or radial tires ect! lol.j/k

Joe, I cant say for sure, but I believe the ones in my 250 were waterproof. That would mean they had them, but hard to say if they sell anything scrubber related anymore.

Thanks Doug,
I see that AHsupply has different end caps now. They are black with attached cords. I might give them an e-mail and see what gives. Maybe they would work with some help from silicon or liquid tape. I need new bulbs too. Bummer is I only got a few months use on the first set!~(
oh well. I have made an adaptor for the ATS and today I'll put the finishing touches on that then tomorrow cut a hole through the top of the canopy. I see wet things! ahh
