Open Brain Dying?
I think my red open brain is dying. I have had it for about 2 months, it has been very healthy, and feeding untill recently. About a week ago i noticed some white fungus growing on a piece of the red edges of the brain, then a couple days later part of the skeleton was showing, just like if someone ripped a piece of the flesh off the edge, i have tried to feed it raw shrimp recently and it doesn't accept it like it did before, i am also feeding Phytoplankton. I did also notice that there was seems to look like green algea on the skeleton, i have not seen this spreed it seems to be contained to only one area.

My water paramters are;
Ammonia 0
NitrITE 0
NitrATE .05
PH 8.2
Calcium 380-400
Phospahte 0
Salinity 0.22-0.23
Temp 80-82 degrees

My question is:

Is this Brain Dying? And is there anything i can do to save it?
Is whatever this brain has contagoius to other corals or fishes?

Any help would be GREAT!

Thanks

I had a similar experience some time ago with a three year old red brain.It seemed as though a small part died off going a mouldy brown colour,I cleaned this away with a very soft baby's tooth brush, months on and all is O.K. ,maybe worth a shot? GOOD LUCK.
