I visited Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco a few weeks back. Overall not too impressed but their 6,000 gallon living coral reef is pretty nice. I didn't get all of it in the video (this window you see is actually one of three or four total windows). But check out the big Chromis in there and the huge growth of softies.

Here is the video (requires Windows Media Player):

Thanks for the link.

Not bad, but not stunning either. Dunno why I was expecting more when I saw the thread title.

Nice tank.

Rich, I don't think the color of the softies is all that photogenic. I'm sure they look more impressive in person.

The clams and fish look nice.

Thanks for sharing!

I live in San Francisco and unfortunately this video really doesn't paint a good picture of the whole aquarium (although it's nice). It is HUGE! I don't know how many thousands of gallons it is but it's up there. It covers three of the huge panes of glass. I remember the Bangaii Cardinals looked enormous as well as the softies as you can see. The clams are amazing also. It's like seeing a huge home aquarium but everything is bigger. It's definitely worth checking out if you're ever in S.F.. The first Wednesday of the month is free (donations requested). I think the rest of the aquarium is pretty damn good too.
