Yes FLAQ is worth the drive.

Atlantis has to use boat thrusters for water motion. The sacrificial anodes are leaching zinc.

I visited the Newport Aquarium shortly after it opened about three years ago. I have to agree with mgk - the reef displays were very disappointing. From what I remember it looked like they had been in a rush to open and had dumped a bunch of live rock in too tall, underlit tanks. The number of dead/dying corals and clams I saw was apalling. Hopefully there has been some improvement?

I second the Musee d'Oceanographie in Monaco as being top notch. I guess that is what you get when Jaubert (aka the plenum man) is on your staff and you have the luxury of doing a 5% water exchange per day with filtered water from the Mediteranean.
