I'm seeing all these cool color morphs of ricordea, and was wondering where everyone acquired theirs from. Orange, purple, blue, pink, neon green, bi-colors and tri-colors...where are they coming from?

I acquired a rock with about 30 olive green ones on it, and I like it so much I'd like to put some different colored ones around that rock's area in the tank...like a ricordea grotto, if you take my meaning.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Peace,

Chip

If I told I would have to bite the cyanide capsule in my mouth.

Seriously though I get mine locally. Infact they had some pinkish and orangeish ones laying around for a few weeks now.

Well, that sucks. They don't ship, do they? :)

Anyone else know where to procure some coolness ricordeaness besides eBay?

The best selections I think are at Palmetto, ecorals and Dr Mac has a new ricordea section.

Actually, it looks like they only have individual polyps...I'm looking for colonies of at least 4-5 polyps per rock, and more if possible.

Thanks for the help.

Dr Mac has some colonies. Ecorals had a big multi colored colony a couple of weeks ago so I would check with him. Ebay has colonies usually.

I know this may be a little off topic, but has anybody bought Live Corals off of ebay? What kind of success rate have you had if you have won an auction before? I have bid on other items, but never a "live" item on ebay so I am a little leery. Thanks.

Where were you about 2 weeks ago Chip: I had a handful of orange/blue and purple/green ricordea's I was selling off out of my tank. They're pretty much all gone now (might have 1 orange left if the bugger hurry's up and splits). I got mine at the LFS's in Buffalo a few summers ago, but there's bunches floating around in our reef club.
I think however, so long as the market supports people selling them at inflated prices, you may be hard pressed to find any from a hobbiest at a reasonable price.
