Hi. What is the best/coolest/most favorite creature you've ever owned? (I know this topic has been posted before, but it's hard to get a narrow topic search using words like "most favorite")

I'm starting a new reef tank and have no idea what I want to stock it with. Please help me out. Thanks and post away...

I love the common clownfish. Nothing swims like them, lives in hosts like they do, and pair up/breed so easily. They are also tank raised, beautiful, not too big, and do not bother most fish. I know they are common, but big deal--rarity really doesn't impress me.

my coolest animal was a sunbeam snake. Xenopeltis unicolor. Definitely hard to care for.

I'm with Outerbank, at least for fish. If ocellaris clowns were the only fish available, I'd still have a tank.

Largest carnivore this planet has ever seen, can you imgine one of these in an enclosure veiwable from your living room, just like a massive window into its lair. You would have to feed it Heffa's from a catapult, no way you could get close enough to feed it by hand.

After that, my very own snakeys are pretty rad.

I like it all!

My cleaner shrimp has the most personality in my tank, but for cool looking it'd be a monkey shrimp (i know they aren't reef safe but mine hasn't done anything but live peacefully in my tank.) or golden stripe marron clows.. or a decorator crab, but he picks on my smaller xenias...

I would have to say the springers Dottyback. An awesome personality and not that aggresive plus he has a special way of swimming.

Just my 2c but for best reef occupant I will go with clams also. There are some awsome clams. Here is a snap of my newest family member...

I think I would definately have to say the Red-Faced Batfish, platax pinnatus. Absolutely beautiful fish, especially as a juvenile.
