I am seeking advice and opinions from some reefkeepers with more experience than I have. I have a 29 gallon tank, approx. 32lbs rock, power compact lights, clown, coral beauty, yellowtail damsel, few crabs and snails, huge sebae, several curlycue anemones (it keeps spawning new ones), very small cold water anemone, Lg red brain coral, a few mushrooms and lots of 2 different types of polyps. I know, that is too much, you are thinking, but this tank is absolutly maintenance free, and all parameters are right on the money. Only problem is a few mushrooms are not doing that great. Not dying, just not getting bigger or multiplying. I have a dual bio wheel, prism skimmer (24/7) and good sand bed. Tank just celebrated 1 yr anniversary.
On to my topic- I have a visitherm 100W heater on the far left side in the back. I have 2 perfectly good visitherm 250W units someone gave me. It seems like having a backup, just in case, maybe set 10 degrees lower would be a good idea. Or conversely, I could put the 250 where the 100 is now, since it is just rock over there, and move the 100 over to the other corner, where there is more population. My wife says "if it works, don't f*@k with it. What do you guys think?
Pete
