I noticed in the warnings to keep this away from lights do to heat issues. I have also heard of MH bulbs melting them. My problem is how do you mount one of these and have MH lighting? It wont be inches away from the lighting unit, probably atleast a foot, but still im wondering if thats too much light. anyone?

actually thats news to me, regarding MH's melting the Seaswirls.

I've had 2 seaswirls, under 4x250W HQI's and SE bulbs and I've had no problems with em melting at all.

I have a 3/4" sea swirl about 12-15 inches away from a 1000w mh. The black plastic has discolored but no melting yet.

My Seaswirls are about 4-6 inches below my 250W MH, but also 3-4 inches behind (that is, not directly under the bulb), and 2-3 inches below a VHO bulb, about 1 inch behind, with no heat issues.
