My Toadstool looks good now. It has a couple of bumps on the stalk. Maybe buds?
I took your advice- did some reading and turned off the UV.
My tank has a corner overflow that drains to the wet/dry below the tank. I can remove the bio-balls creating more sump space. Am considering putting little LR and possibly DSB in there. I've noticed in sand that has drifted into the bottom of the overflow a good number of worms and tiny snails are growing. I'm wondering if putting LR and/or DSB in the wet/dry would have the same effect.
About the denitrator - I think you are right- it needs to go. I invested in a couple of Pinpoint meters and when the denitrator exchange takes place the ORP reading drops noticably. It's set to exchange every 12 hours, but even so, I doubt this is healthy for the animals. I have an idea that some type of nitrate control should in place when I disengage the unit though.
What about clams and/or calurpa or other type of macroalgae?
Any thoughts on this?
Anyone?
