I don't know about the first pics, but the second pic is the flow restrictor that regulates the rejection ratio of the membrane. It has the label that tell ou how many milliliter per minute it let thru, I think... For these, you should contact your seller/manufactor. If you have to get us to do it for you, it usually means that the manufactor has a pretty bad documentation with the product.
Ah ha! Looking in my owner manual it is called an "auto shut-off valve." It has a line coming in from the 3rd stage that goes out to the post filter tee fitting. One side to the tee goes to the post filter the other to the tank
There is a 2nd line that passes thru the auto shut-off valve. One is connects to membrane out-put, the other end is connected to the RO input.
I wonder if this valve can be defective or is it really needed?

The ASO valve is only needed if you have a pressure tank. If you ran your RO 24/7 into open container, there is no need for it. It is used to shut off the RO when the back pressure is above certain pre-set amount. You should be familiar with it because it was mentioned in a recent thread... remember it now?
