so what size micron should i get for sps and clam? 800-1000?
another question,
I am going out of town, for about 2 months,my soon to be wife will be takin care of the tank, but i need to figure something out for the feeding. I would prefer to have something that would be in one cube frozen that i could drop in and could feed the entire tank:
entire tank:
various sps corals,
a couple lps,
a clam
a few softies,
1 yellow tang
1 bicolor angel
1 lawnmower blenny
3 chak bass (by then)
so is there anything i can blend up for the whole tank?
currenly feeding dts every three days, emerald entree every three days with flake, there are plenty of macros for the tang and blenny to munch on, they dont touch any of the food. the angel eats all of the above.
any sugguestions?
thanks

500-800 is what I'd use (which, fwiw, I don't).

I suggest your wife feeds less rather then more while you're away. I wouldn't bother feeding corals and clams during this time, since it just opens up the possibility to overfeeding and nutrient buildup (I'm guessing your wife is not a reefkeeper). Keep it simple by just feeding the fish. Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef is a easy frozen cube to feed that has diversified ingredients in an easy-to-prepare format. I would just have your wife thaw out 1 cube a day in a cup, and slowly pour food in once defrosted. Not much room for error here.

sounds like a good idear to me,
would it help if she could dose some dts or anything once a week? she does helpout and knows a good deal about the tank and its inhabintance so if it would make a noticable difference she could dose from time to time.

soo the 500-800 i shall give er a go.
thanks

Sure, if you instruct her to dose moderately, that's fine. Also teach her to know when the DT has gone bad (horrible smell test is good enough). You don't need to dose it if you don't want to.
