Just wondering if any of you out there have ever done this from http://www.exoticfish.com?

1) Are they really small sizes?
2) is this too many at one time?

My Tank is 75g
85# LR
100# sand
Bullet-1 skimmer
20g sump
Ph 8.2
Ca ~ 400
Temp 82

Currently have shrooms, Yellow Tank, damsel, and a stoaway from live rock.
And I had some frags from friends that have been in for about a month. 1 acro, Xenia...

Thanks....

I did the 9 for $99 last month. The corals are a decent size and would generally cost easily 2X-3X locally. I went to the actual outlet to pick them out. I bought the following:
-Colt Coral
-Tree Coral
-Assorted Mushrooms
-Green Frilly Mushrooms
-Sun Coral
-Xenia
-Bubble Coral
-Green Open Brain
-Green Star Polyps

The Colt did fine for a week then started to die off. Couldn't save it. The Sun Coral started dying off because none of the polyps came out. It took several weeks for them to do so and now it seems to be doing ok even though half of the original polyps died off (new ones are forming though). The Xenia was for a friend and wasn't doing so well last time I checked - water parameters aren't too good in that tank so that could be the problem. The Open Brain never really inflated and always looked distressed. It died after 3 weeks. Everything else is thriving though. Even with the corals that didn't make it, I still think its a good deal. As for bioload, it is a lot for a 75 to put in at once. You may want to make sure your are skimming 24/7 and do some extra water changes to deal with the new additions.

Wow, not a good experience. Might be your water quality.

If you do a search on Reefs or Reefcentral you will find many many happy customers.

I did it a about a year ago and got big healthy corals that are all alive today.

Very highly recommended.

I did the 9 for 99 a few times over the years because of the constant upgrade on the tanks. Everytime, I am very please. nothing dies except for the ones that supposed to not do well..i.e...flower pot, carnation. I love the 9 for 99...great customer service too. I actually I am thinking going again soon but not for the 9 for 99.

As for the sun polyps, you probably already know this but those things required feeding instead of lighting.

Thanks guys for all your input. I think I'm going to try and order 7 instead of 9 and see if they'll upgrad the size...

My water parameters were actually good so I don't know what the problems were. I think the Brain was picked on a bit by my Flame Angel so that could've been the problem. The Sun Coral were fed but still didn't come out until a week or so ago. The Colt Coral was moved closer to the light when it started shedding mucus. Even after lowering it, it never recovered. But like I said before everything is doing well now and would do it again if I had to start another tank. I'm planning on going there after Thanksgiving to get a few more corals as I don't need the 9 pack again.
