dinoflagellates - will fighting conch solve the problem

I have been given excellent support with my algae problem (please refer to yesterday's topic posted) Thankyou!
It has been suggested that inclusion of a fighting conch will solve the problem. What is a fighting conch? Is it readily available from the LFS? Is there a chance that it will solve one problem and create others? I understand it eats 'diatoms and cyano'. Please excuse my ignorance but I have not heard these terms before. What are they?
I would die a thousand deaths without you guys.

-They are a conch , unlike the queen conch these only reach about 4" in length. They are tank raised and a great addition to any reef tank IMO.

Is it readily available from the LFS?

-I have never seen one in an LFS personally, I ordered mine from Premium Aquatics but many of the MO places have them.

-No it won't create more problems. Whether it solves the problem is anyones guess :wink: .

If it is indeed dinoflagellates that you are fighting then odds are it won't help. You can certainly try tho. If you do, let us know how it turns out...

this is a great idea C and i think that these conch will definatly soot the size of your tank and should sought out ur problem.
