I am considering adding a third 400 watt 20,000k metal halide to my 235gal. reef. I currently have two metal halides operating with the old fashioned magnetic ballasts. My question is what is the advantage of the newer electronic ballasts? Do they run cooler, provide differant spectrum or use less electricity? Are the advantages significant enough to warrant changing my old ballasts?

From what I've read, the answer is "yes."
