I have one false perc in my 37. Other fish include one blue damsel and one royal gramma.

It really depends on what clowns you are talking about. 2 percs or 2 false percs are one thing, but I would not put a single female tomato or a single female maroon in a 37. They just get too big.

According to Scott Michael in his book 500+ Marine Fishes, there are only three species of Clownfishes that one can consider having more than two in a tank. A. ocellaris, A. perideraion and A. polymnus. I have keep trios Ocellaris and A. perideraion (Pink Skunk). I have never keep A. polymnus (Saddleback)
IME, Ocellaris does not abuse the juvenile fish. Please remember that I have a 400 g tank with two 18 inches H. magnifica anemones for these clowns to live in. They are very happy and, IMO, feel secures.
Other clown fishes are best keep in mated pairs. Two young fish will pair up, especially if one gets them different in size. If all you wanted were clown fish in the tank, I would keep three or four Ocellaris clowns.

Ditto. I have 4 in my 180G reef and I think they are wonderful fish. Make sure to buy captive bred as they are beautiful, hearty and better adapted to tank life.

I love the coloration, and the way they move.
