hi.
Yes, it was Sept. 2000 when I went to your workplace and pick them up before you restart your tank with only SPS. The colorful SPS on the T. deresa turns out to be a nice birdnest coral. It grew from a 1/4 inch tip on the clam shell to a nice colony about the size of large fist.

Unfortunately, the T. crocea , the birdnest and most of the Xenia died when I moved to the new place, and the rest of the colony died in my office tank when the chiller broke a couple months ago. Sorry Chris. I am sure there are many many colonies of them in LA/OC/VC/SD area.

Is this Ching (I think that's your name)? :) Are you using a new name here?

Is the Derasa still alive? I knew that coral thing encrusted on it looked cool.

Bummer about the xenia. I'm getting a new mini-reef setup for the first time in two years and it'd be nice to buy some of my old xenia back from somebody. I wonder if CJD has any left.

hi.
Yes, this is Ching. The name change is a long stories.

If you remember, the T. derasa was for a buddy who pretty much neglected it. I got it back from him (after you urged me), but it was too late. But the birdnest lived on until I moved to a new house.

If I remember correctly, CJD still have some Xenia in one of his tanks last time I visited him. If you can wait a month or so, I may have a PomPom variety that I had for a few years that I can give you.

I'm in no rush on my new tank. I don't even have lighting yet. Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that. :)

I think my clam gets a good amount of attention, but the fish are always the first thing people ask about. In my FO, everyone asks about the eel and lion, but nobody cares about the majestic angel (my favorite fish). SPS corals??? Yeah, right! No one but reefers care.
